The couple of websites I visited had a similar style, but they were in 18k gold. The prices ranged from $5000 to $10,000 dollars. If you are near or can get to a Cartier showroom, I would take it and possibly they can verify authenticity for you. Even if it costs a small fee, it would be worth your while. Maybe they can even give you something in writing if you ever decide to sell it.

Getting it tested for gold content may guarantee it is or is not 18k,but they do make replicas of the more expensive ones in 18k and so it wont guarantee it is a 40k bracelet.
